SolQuest Design Unlimited (SDU) has been in existence since 2008. This minority owned firm provides full service architecture and design, with an emphasis on producing work that is environmentally friendly. In order to meet the ever changing demands of architecture and design, we approach each project from a holistic standpoint with careful consideration of design, economy, sustainability, and scheduling.
SDU’s mission is to provide affordable and sustainable design for a diverse client base with the intent of establishing long term economic benefits and positive effects on the environment.
The firm’s principal, Sharon Samuels, is a licensed architect in the State of Illinois (2008) and a LEED Accredited Professional. She has extensive experience with large scale planned developments and small scale interior renovation projects. Ms. Samuels has a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Key projects in Ms. Samuels’ portfolio include the Chatham Market retail center and a residential project in the historic Bronzeville. The Chatham Market is a 50-acre planned development located on Chicago’s south side. The development includes a LEED certified building. Responsibilities on this project included the general management of the day-to-day activities such as (a) tracking; (b) documentation of LEED related materials; and (c) management of the project team during all phases of the project form design thru construction administration.
